“Gentle Wave” Ecstatic Dance this Friday Morning!

Gentle Wave Ecstatic Dance
1st Friday Morning of Every Month
10:45 – 11:30 AM (doors open and warm-up at 10:30 AM)

Join facilitator Karen Elder and other ecstatic dancers for 45 minutes of free-form dance where you can groove however your body wants, by yourself or with others. This dance is called “Gentle Wave” due to it being 45 minutes in lenght (as opposed to the traditional 60 minutes), and a mellower “chaos” portion of the wave.

Bare your soles (and soul), surrender to the music, and let your movement be guided by your body’s wisdom. There are no wrong moves. No previous dance experience necessary . . .

10:30 am: Doors open
10:30 to 10:45: Get ready, warm up, catch-up with friends

NOTE: As a result of a number of suggestions and requests, in order to help us go more inward before the dance, a practice of no talking on the dance floor has been adopted during warm-up. This practice is commonly followed at ecstatic dances in larger cities. If you’d like to visit before the dance, please feel free to do so in the reception area.

10:45: Opening circle comes together and start the dance
10:50 to 11:35 (or so): Dance ecstatically!
11:35 to 11:40 (or so): Closing circle

Cost: $5
