Freedom from Clock Time

Clock time is not fundamental; it’s an artificial order imposed on the organic flow of experience. It can rule our lives, though, if we aren’t careful. Time management is a discipline in itself — how to prioritize, how to be efficient. Striving for efficiency is to be admired, perhaps, but something important can be lost in the process. To be driven by clock time is to lose our freedom to be ourselves; this is what living in the Now is all about. We can only be ourselves if we ignore artificial demands — other than those we accept willingly.
