Two New Qigong and Tai Chi Classes Starting in January!

Seated Tai Chi; Principles of Embodiment
with Kit West

Like the standing version of “principles of embodiment,” this seated class focuses on renewing our relationship with the body via slow movements coordinated with the breath and visualizations. The first part of the class can be done standing behind a chair or seated as the movements do not involve travel. The second part will be done seated as the exercises are flowing and dance-like, yet fully adaptable to the chair.

This class can improve posture, coordination, and strength, as well as lower levels of stress. The brain also becomes more alert and new neural pathways are opened as a result of this type of “brain gym.” Most importantly, a sense of joy in movement, without the stress of perfectionism, can easily become part of daily life.
