Feeling the History by Marius Oprea

I was thinking of the worries which beset me when I was Raja [i.e., an Indian Monarch]. I thought I had security in wealth and position, but I see now that the more a [person] owns and the higher his position, the more he is afraid, for he fears to lose that which he has. A prince even surrounds himself with armed guards, so fearful is he. But now that I own nothing and have no position, I have nothing to lose and therefore nothing to fear. Is that not happiness?
