Save the Date: Cardio Barre with Corrin Moses Starts on April 29!

Lotus Center is delighted to welcome Corrin Moses for an ongoing Cardio Barre class on Wednesday evenings!

Barre movement classes blend elements of dance, Pilates-inspired exercises, functional strength training, and deep stretching. Barre focuses on small, controlled isometric movements designed to build deep muscle strength, improve posture and alignment, enhance flexibility, and increase endurance. Set to uplifting, fun music playlists, the class offers an energizing and welcoming atmosphere that helps participants stay motivated and connected throughout the workout.

Classes are a full-body workout including a warm-up, standing barre work, lower-body sequences (glutes, thighs, calves), core-focused floor work, upper-body toning, and a nourishing cooldown. Throughout the class there are also moments of deep stretching. The class can be done with or without a ballet barre, as well as with props such as light hand weights (2–5 lbs), small workout balls, and resistance bands (long or looped). Special consideration can be given to all levels. Progressions are offered throughout, and Corrin is experienced in offering modifications as needed. The class is suitable for both beginners and experienced movers. Barre with Corrin emphasizes positive attention to posture, joint safety, and core engagement. Adaptations will be provided for individuals returning to movement after pregnancy or extended periods of inactivity, managing diastasis recti, or working with general tightness, weakness, or injuries.

TLC (“The Lotus Center”) in the Community . . .

Nonviolent Communication (“NVC”): In 2022 and 2023 Lotus Center partnered with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City, and the Silver City Food Co-op, respectively, to provide weekend trainings in NVC, as presented in the text of the same title by author Marshall Rosenberg. For these trainings, each of which was attended by 35 people, a Truth or Consequences-based certified NVC instructor was retained. An outgrowth of those trainings is a weekly, ongoing NVC “Practice Group” which is offered at Lotus Center by donation with no one ever being turned away for lack of funds.
