Save the Date: Morning Kirtan Begins on January 4!

Please join Ishan Das for Morning Kirtan beginning Wednesday morning, January 4 at 10:00 AM

In 1968 Ishan Das was initiated into the practice of kirtan chanting by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. Ishan has opened several kirtan centers around the world. He spent two years in India learning to construct the clay and leather mridanga drum which has traditionally been used in kirtan for the last 500 years. Returning to the west in 1975, he created the synthetic mridanga drum which is today used in kirtan all over the world.

Participants in kirtan at Lotus Center will be welcome to participate by sitting, standing, or dancing with traditional steps, and playing hand cymbals which will be supplied and played in sync with traditional mridanga rhythms. The word “kirtan” means glorification. Kirtan is glorification of the power of the universe that becomes available to us in the form of transcendental sound vibration. By chanting and hearing this transcendental sound, we gradually become more in harmony with ourselves, with each other, and with the world we live in. Please come and engage in kirtan with Ishan Das.

NOTE: Kirtan follows 15 minutes after the end of Qigong Practice, also with Ishan das.
