Ecstatic Dance/Dance Church
Sunday Mornings
10:30 – 12:15 AM (doors open and warm-up at 10:30 AM)

Join facilitator Lexa Jobe and other ecstatic dancers for an hour-and-a-half of free-form dance where you can groove however your body wants, by yourself or with others.

Bare your soles (and soul), surrender to the music, and let your movement be guided by your body’s wisdom. There are no wrong moves. No previous dance experience necessary . . .

10:30 am: Doors open
10:30 to 11:00: Get ready, warm up, catch-up with friends

NOTE: As a result of a number of suggestions and requests, in order to help us go more inward before the dance, a practice of no talking on the dance floor has been adopted during warm-up.  This practice is commonly followed at ecstatic dances in larger cities.  If you’d like to visit before the dance, please feel free to do so in the reception area.

11:00: Opening circle comes together and start the dance
11:05 to 12:05 (or so): Dance ecstatically!
12:05 to 12:15 (or so): Closing circle

Please note that each dance is limited to 15 participants.

Cost: $7 drop-in; $5 w/ a Lotus Center Ecstatic Dance card

Yoga in Public Schools . . .

Yoga in Public Schools (“YIPS”) is a project of Lotus Center, which began during the 2017/18 school year.  Our mission for YIPS is to bring secular yoga classes, as part of their Physical Education curriculum, to public schools in Grant County.  Thus far, Lotus instructors have taught yoga to students at Bayard Elementary, San Lorenzo Elementary, La Plata Middle, Guadalupe Elementary, Cliff, Silver High, Snell Middle, and Jose Barrios Elementary schools.  YIPS is part of Lotus Center’s community service program, and is provided at no cost to the schools or the students.
